6:30 am – Wake up way too early for the time I fell asleep. Can’t go back to sleep
7:00 am – Go downstairs and lie on my parents’ bed. Complain to them that I haven’t slept properly since coming home, so I clearly need to go back to school tomorrow. I’m sort of kidding, but I’m really not sleeping and it’s the worst.
7:15 am – Wander down to the kitchen and ask what my dad’s plan is. He says he’ll eat and walk Pippa and then we can go to the gym. I consider whether or not I need food before that, and decide that I’ll be way past hungry after my workout if I don’t. Usually I’d offer to walk Pippa, but the boot on my ankle makes it hard to move suddenly if she decides she wants to go somewhere or do something unexpected.
I eat a SquareBar (love love love) and drink some water while reading blogs and waiting on him.
8:02 am – Work out. Today I alternate elliptical intervals with upper body lifting. It feels good.
9:10 am – We get back home. I take a shower and for some reason unbeknownst to me put on makeup. I’m planning to go to a hot yoga class at noon, so the makeup makes little sense. Whatever.
9:43 am – Make breakfast.
10:01 am – Eat and read blogs.
10:38 am – Start drying and putting away the dishes my dad is washing.
10:45 am – Pack up a secret santa gift I need to take to the post office. Use way too much packing tape because I am the worst at packing and/or wrapping things.
11:16 am – Eat a Health Warrior Chia Bar because my dad just made lunch and I feel myself starting to get hungry, but don’t want a full meal in my stomach for yoga.
I won’t get home until at least 2:00, though, so I need something.
11:22 am – Head to yoga. Repeatedly ignore Waze because I actually know where I’m going. Frankly, this is a surprise even to me. I might be in my hometown, but I never paid attention to how we traveled around when I was a kid, so I’m still learning my way around. Sad but true.
11:50 am – Get to yoga. Stay in the car because Keith Urban is on the radio and I like Keith Urban.
11:53 am – Go inside and toss my stuff in a locker.
12:00 pm – Yoga! I don’t know how to feel about the class. I wasn’t crazy about the teacher, but we actually spent a lot of time on headstands and handstands, which I’m too hesitant to work on by myself, so it turned out to be kinda fun.
1:02 pm – Chat with one of the other students about the boot. Head to the post office to mail my secret santa gift.
1:35 pm – Stand in line because it’s the season of sending stuff. Listen to a very awkward, rude encounter during which an older man bashed a total stranger and an entire religion because she was talking about Christmas gifts.
1:50 pm – Go to the grocery store next door to get Greek yogurt and sweet potatoes.
2:16 pm – Get home, pull the recycling bin up to the garage, get the mail, and unload my car. Eat a handful of dying baby peppers.
Immediately start making dinner. It’s a whole chicken in the crockpot and it’s the easiest and tastiest thing in life.
2:40 pm – Take a super quick shower. Laze around on my bed for a little bit.
3:15 pm – Eat something kinda resembling lunch, but smaller.
{Plantain chips, kraut, chicken sausage, ham}
4:03 pm – Eat Greek yogurt and a cashew caramel cluster. Oh, and a sixth of a Lily’s coconut chocolate bar.
4:15 pm – Get distracted by a bottomless inbox. Write most of this post.
5:04 pm – Try to help my mom wrap gifts. Fail, partially because I’m hopeless at wrapping gifts, partially because my dog wants to cuddle, and partially because my attempt at a small lunch was a mistake and I’m so hungry. I snack on Greek yogurt, pistachios, and about 5 cookies while petting my dog and watching The Crown.
6:05 pm – Toss broccoli in coconut oil, salt, and pepper, and roast it for dinner.
6:36 pm – Ask my mom to tear apart the chicken while I get the broccoli out of the oven.
6:45 pm – Dinner time. I swear I took pictures of my plate but they’re nowhere to be found. I assume you know what falling-apart tender chicken and crispy broccoli look like.
7:13 pm – Blog. Finish The Crown – too soon.
7:53 pm – Start watching the Blue Jackets game. It started a while ago, but now we can fast forward through the commercials.
8:14 pm – Get a simple snack of sweet potato and apple and almond butter.
Make myself some tea. Watch hockey.
9:18 pm – Be a bad hockey fan and go to bed, even though the game isn’t over, hoping I can actually get a reasonable amount of sleep.
Crispy broccoli, cookies, puppy cuddles, and @corepoweryoga. #wiaw #SweatPink Share on XYour turn:
One big cookie or a bunch of little ones? I tend to make little ones to give myself the option of having just a taste… and then occasionally have a bunch anyway.
Three things you did yesterday? Three things you ate?
Linking up with WIAW
Little cookies. If they are little, you can have more
I love that you included your lay down in your parents bed, lol (Hope you sleep better, btw). You should talk to Erica about square bar, I believe she has the hook up!
Volume eating for the win ? Ooh thanks. I’ll have to talk to her!
I rather have little cookies but hate making cookies so I usually make cookie bars.
LOL I understand. Making cookies can be quite time consuming.
Thanks for reminding me I haven’t made a whole chicken in the crockpot in awhile. I love how easy it is!
It’s the best! Almost easier than even a storebought rotisserie chicken!
Ok, so I sometimes love a HUGE cookie, but most of the time I love making small cookies for my family.
It sounds like you had a really low-key blessed day at home.
Praying that you might be able to sleep. <3
My FAVORITES are those big ol’ cookies in a skillet covered with vanilla ice cream, but those are a once-in-a-while thing. Little cookies are perfect for more often.
I love those little mini sweet peppers!! They’re so yummy. And I need to try those Square bars! Hope you’re having fun in Ohio!
Baby peppers are my faves
I highly recommend SquareBars! They’re probably a little higher in sugar, but they’re oh so tasty!
Boo to not sleeping well! I often find when I’m sleeping somewhere different (even if it’s at home after being on vacation), it takes me a while to adjust and really sleep well again. Jesse has this theory that it’s your body’s defense mechanism – because you’re in unfamiliar surroundings it doesn’t let you sleep fully in case you’re attacked or some such yadayada
Little anythings are always better in my opinion. Cupcakes, cookies, muffins – you name it. Why? Probably because you can eat a bunch and don’t have to worry about them falling apart
I like Jesse’s theory ? I mean, it makes sense from a scientific standpoint.
YES to mini baked goods. They’re so cute
A lot of little cookies for sure! I feel like they last longer that way
. Yesterday I went to school, went to my track meet, and got to bed wayyy to late. Can’t wait until my winter break starts! The best thing I ate yesterday was Honey Love Grown O’s with almond milk in a mostly-empty jar of Crunchy Barney Butter. AMAZING combo!!
xxMeah
That cereal jar/bowl sounds amazing ?
Seems like a nice kinda day. Today I watched lots of TV because I’m feeling sick
I also made Christmas cake for my mum and did laundry. What a day
I hope you’re feeling better now! The happiest of new years to you!
Little everything – from cookies to pancakes – is always better. More the merrier
And yesterday I: wrote a blog post, went for a long hike in the snow and played far too many games of Words with Friends. I ate: a smoothie bowl, lots of avocado and roasted veggies!
I only learned about little pancakes when I started making them myself. My dad always made HUGE plate-sized pancakes, but I’m not skilled enough to flip those
I agree about mini food, anyway!
Sounds like such a lovely day!
I feel like I missed something. Who did you go to the gym with?
Sorry if that wasn’t clear! My dad
Ahh, sorry it was probably me!
No worries!
Little cookies for sure! That way I can snack on them throughout the day (and pretend like I’m only going to eat 1 or 2 and then end up eating half the batch because.. cookies.) So glad you liked my bailey’s cookies.. your drizzle game is ON POINT.
Hahaha I might’ve made that “eat half the batch” move with your cookies
