Five Friday Favorites 10/09/15

in About me, Everyday, Five Friday Favorites on

Hello hello hello! Happy Friday! How was your week? Mine was fast. Which is both good and bad. Good because, hey, it’s already the weekend. That’s almost like a break! Bad because it went so fast that I feel like I’m somehow behind schedule, even though I’m not. Anyway, I’m babbling a little. I say it’s time to end this super-fast week on the right note by looking back at some of our favorite little things from the week.
  • Pandora Classical for Studying Radio

Sometimes, I want to accomplish things and be around people. This magical station blaring in my ears lets me read and focus in company. A bunch of people were watching (and screaming at) the Cubs game Wednesday night and I was able to plow through a ton of reading for IR despite the noise. Also, I just really like classical music. So pretty.

  • Salmon

Okay, so more than salmon being a favorite (which it totally is), it’s the fact that I can decide I want salmon for lunch and just make it. I pretty much throw together a bunch random vegetables, deli meat, cheese, crackers, and nuts, and call it lunch 90% of the time. I love that having my own kitchen allows me to take advantage of the occasions that I want to actually cook things at lunch time. And honey mustard salmon is always a wonderful idea.

  • Wild Friends Chocolate Coconut Peanut Butter

wild friends

This stuff is gold. Okay, it’s actually brown (sorry), but I love it. It perfectly balances the chocolate and coconut with the peanut flavor, it’s not too sweet, and it’s wonderful on everything from apples to English muffins to pears to spoons. Try it!

  • Hockey season

Alright, so the Blue Jackets‘ season actually starts tonight, but the anticipation is exciting. I like hockey. A lot. And, hey, the Blue Jackets have been looking great in the preseason.

I saw this on Allison’s Instagram account earlier this week, and it just makes me happy. I want to take things with a smile. 🙂

And that’s all for me for now! I hope you have a fabulous weekend, and I’ll talk to you on Monday.

Any plans for the weekend?

Do you need background noise to work?

Do you like salmon? Coconut?

What are you loving this week?

Happy Friday, Ellen! I definitely like having music while I work, too, so I can work around another people productively without having to give any loud people the stink eye haha

I love having music on when I’m working 🙂 The only time I can’t have it on much is if I’m writing something important. Happy Friday!

I definitely need some kind of noise to concentrate! Sometimes silence is so loud, sounds cliche, I know.
    Have a great Friday!

I don’t need background music or noise, but when I have it, I am a lot more productive! I love how I get into a groove and my own little world when I’m listening to music and working. It’s the only thing that kept me sane with math, haha! ?

Once I’m in a groove, working feels like no big deal at all. And music only helps 🙂

Salmon YES! But Coconut NO…I’ve never really been a fan.
Listening to Taylor Swift pretty much got me through Finals and I definitely need background noise to work more effectively. Enjoy the hockey 🙂 xx

Is this ironic or what, but we are replacing our microwave this weekend and installing a working one. It’s been broken for some time, but we finally figured out a solution. I listen to music all. the. time. when I really want to get work done. In fact, I can’t really get quality work done unless I am plugged into some kind of music, which I usually promptly screen out. 😛

Oh, yes, yes, yes!! I love salmon and coconut both! My especial favorite kind of salmon is the smoked stuff that you flake onto sandwiches (of course, because I’m sandwich obsessed…); best on bagels with cream cheese! And that chocolate coconut pb looks delicious! If I ever see that brand, I’m going to have to pick some up to try. 🙂

Hope you have yourself a restful and refreshing weekend! ❤
