Five Friday Favorites 11/13/15

in Uncategorized on

Hey hi hello! How are you? Are you ready for the weekend? I certainly am, and it should be a fun one. This week has been packed with stuff, so while it went fast… it was a little crazy. But now it’s just about over, so let’s end it on a good note by looking back at some of our favorite things from the week.
  • Vaseline Cocoa Radiant

vaseline-cocoa-radiant

Remember when I talked about the annoying fact that half the pumps for my favorite Gold Bond lotion don’t work? Well, this stuff is what I bought when I finished off the old bottle. It smells amazing, isn’t greasy, and keeps my skin super soft. And the pump works. Love it.

  • All the fruit

I eat a lot of fruit regularly, but I’ve been enjoying it a little extra this week. In the rotation: bananas, apples, pears, clementines, and dried dates and figs. I can’t get enough. Bonus: most fruit goes perfectly with nut butter, which is basically my favorite thing.

  • My aunt’s texts

My aunt texts me pictures of my cousins and general life updates almost every day. I always love it, but I was having a kinda “meh” day earlier this week when I received quite like a video of my cousin on a preschool ice-skating field trip. And that’s enough to make anybody smile.

  • Brinner… breakfast for dinner

brinner

This is one of my favorite dinners lately. I sauté mushrooms and shaved Brussels sprouts or some spinach in butter, melt in some pepper jack cheese, and then crack an egg on top and cover it till the white is set. Then I fry up a few slices of ham, get some toast, and eat it all with fresh salsa. Yum.

  • I get to see Sally!

Technically, this isn’t part of the week, since it hasn’t happened yet, but I’ve been looking forward to it. So… it counts. She’ll be at the baking show my mom and I are going to on Saturday. About 75% of the recipes I bake are hers (or variations of them), and basically I think she’s amazing. I’m excited.

And that’s all for me this week! Have a lovely weekend, and I’ll talk to you next week. 🙂

Are you a fan of “brinner”?

Any plans this weekend?

What are you loving this week?

I think I love the winter/fall fruit more than summer (no joke!) This week I starting going crazy for blood oranges! So good!
    And I never do brinner…but I really need to…pancakes twice a day 😉

I’ve never had a blood orange, but I’ll be on the lookout for them!
And, yes, pancakes are a good idea any time of day 🙂

Brinner is the best! It’s always my go to when I’m not sure what to eat. Yum 🙂

Same! It’s a delicious, easy fallback option!

We eat breakfast for dinner at least once a week. It always seems so much easier than preparing actual dinner….

Haha I totally get that. It’s funny because I cook right now is super time-intensive, but breakfast for dinner just seems like the easiest option all the time. Love it!

I would have breakfast food for 90% of my meals if that were social acceptable. It has the best food!

      I wholeheartedly concur 🙂

I’m a massive fan of brinner (tonight’s omelette will confirm that…)!
Hope you and your mom have a great time at the Bake Show.

    xx

Having Saturday dinner at the rehab center where my grandma currently is together with all of this side of the fam (minus my dad and sibs…WAAA!! ?), so that is the bright spot of my week.

That meal looks awesome. You are so creative. Just asking—is your mom eating Brussel sprout yet?. You do so much with them.

      Nope! She’s anti-Brussels sprouts!
