Long Weekend Scenes

in Everyday on

I hope you enjoyed your Valentine’s Day weekend and that you’re starting this week feeling refreshed and loved and maybe a little sugar-happy because we all know that Valentine’s Day means chocolate, and the day after Valentine’s Day means chocolate sales. So, kick back with some chocolate and let’s talk about the weekend.

I didn’t have class on Friday, so I spent the day… largely writing a paper! So exciting. But the paper-writing monotony was broken up by presents!

The first one came in the form of fruit and chocolates from my parents.

And the second one was assorted stuff I love from my aunt.

I’m so lucky to have such loving people send me so many packages. Later that evening, I spread the love a bit and shared a bunch of my chocolates with my housemates at our weekly Friday night tea time. They were all very grateful and surprised that I’d unload so much delicious food – but I still have more than enough in my room. 🙂

Like Friday, Saturday entailed a lot of work, but some friends and I went to a restaurant in Chinatown on Saturday night where we ate dinner and did karaoke.

Basically, we filled the table with a bunch of food and sang in a little room for a couple hours and it was super fun, but I had a migraine, so I came back to the dorm a little early.

Sunday was a little more relaxed – and quite unexpectedly snowy. I say “unexpectedly”, but I don’t watch the weather all that closely… maybe it was expected? All I know is that when I left the dorm to go to the gym at 8 am, there were no signs of snow.

And when I left the gym around 9 am…

IMG_1923By the time I got back to the dorm, I had a little pile of snow on my head. Thankfully, that stopped pretty quickly, I got some grocery shopping done, studied for my math midterm, read for a bit, and then enjoyed dinner and went to house meeting with some friends.

That about sums up my weekend, honestly. Nothing too exciting, but still a pretty good, productive one. I’ll try to be more interesting tomorrow. 😉

How was your weekend?

Did you do anything special for Valentine’s Day?

What would be in your dream care package?

Busy weekend preparing for an even busier week! Whew…I sure will be glad to be on the other side of this week!

Nothing special for Valentine’s Day, though we never really do much, which is nice because then we can be open for babysitting for those couples who do want to go out for the evening. 🙂

I have never received a care package before, so I’m not sure…though I’m pretty sure chocolate and peanut butter would have to be in it. 😛 And any of Trader Joe’s trail mixes/snackables…I love TJs!! Um, I’m pretty sure my dream care package wouldn’t be very good for me, because everything going through my head are edibles. Like, someone needs to come up with a way to package up froyo…freeze-dried? (<-scary) 😛

I’m feeling the same way about this week (and then, I think I feel the same way about every week?) I love my life and being busy, but WHOA. It feels like a lot sometimes. 🙂

That’s okay. My care packages aren’t all that healthy, either. But they’re delicious. 😀
