Thinking Out Loud #43

in Everyday, Thinking Out Loud on

Hey hey! Happy Thinking Out Loud Thursday! I’m playing catch-up during the second half of this week due to a Tuesday midterm (which we shall not talk about), so I’m going to keep this intro pretty short. I’ll be back tomorrow with some of my favorites from the week, though, so be sure to come back for those 🙂 Now let’s get to the spilling of random thoughts that Amanda so kindly facilitates every week!

Thinking-Out-Loud2

1.) I made a second batch of donuts yesterday to give to one of my RAs, who was sad he missed out on them last week.

Chocolate-Covered Raspberry Donuts are adorable, easy to make, and a perfectly festive Valentine's Day treat! Juicy, tart raspberries balance creamy, sweet chocolate in these cake-like baked breakfast delights. | www.myuncommoneveryday.com

I’m not sure he really expected me to, even though I said I would make more after my econ midterm, but it’s always fun to bake – and even more fun to watch people enjoy what you made.

2.) I won an awesome $50 shopping spree to iHerb.com (<– referral link, doesn’t change your prices!) from Les and I’m super excited to pick out my “prizes”. Recommendations? I’ll be sure to show you what I get.

3.) When you exit the teen/college student phase of life, do people get more punctual? Any and all meeting times seem to be viewed as mere suggestions by my peers, and as someone who likes to be 10 minutes early, it’s a teeny bit frustrating.

4.) My roommate and I have 10 mugs on our desks between the two of us. Each of us has one holding pens, but other than that… we have 8 usable mugs on our desks. They’re clean, though! Honestly, there’s just no good place to store so many. They’re cute, so it’s okay, but they definitely create a look of clutter. 😛 Increased storage space would be a good thing.

5.) Chipotle was giving out free burritos on Monday. Apparently, a bunch of people who were trying to get free Chipotle added an extra digit to the phone number and texted a lawyer. I bet that got annoying fast.

6.) Speaking of free burritos, I am the happy recipient of a coupon for one. I’m planning to use it Friday. I don’t have school on Friday! (Full disclosure: my “day off” will mostly be spent writing an essay due Monday. But Chipotle makes even that more tolerable. ?) Chipotle is great, free Chipotle is better, and free Chipotle on a Friday when you have the day off is the best.

My friends get me. ❤️

Have a fabulous day!

Are you a punctual person?

Do you collect anything? Mugs, pens, stationary, nut butter, chocolate…. ☺️

Anything else I should know?

Hahah as for the e.coli, you’re gold. They actually put in a bunch of new policies to more or less wipe out the chances of your getting it. If you haven;t been in the last couple of weeks, it does actually taste a little different, but still delicious!

Even better! I’d really rather not end up with it 🙂

I HATE it when people are late! And at 30, it totally depends on the person. I have friends who are always early for everything (like me), and then I have friends who can’t be on time to save their lives. I have friends who tell me they’re ready to meet and to let them know when I leave my house because I live 25 minutes from where we’re meeting and they’re 5 minutes away, and they STILL show up 20-30 minutes late. I don’t even get it. And it DRIVES ME INSANE! My time is valuable too! I don’t want to waste 30 minutes waiting on somebody! Those donuts look delicious. I want one right now!

      Exactly! Everyone’s time is valuable!

Totally hear you about punctuality. I go out of my way to be at least 5 minutes early to everything, so it really irks me when people are late… especially if there’s nothing interesting to do on my phone 😉 And oh man what I wouldn’t give for some Chipotle right now… free or otherwise. We don’t have it here in my neck of the woods, so I can usually only get it when I travel down to the States!

I think I’d be exponentially more annoyed about lateness without the lovely invention of the iPhone 🙂

Free burritos are great. Death by tasty food actually sounds terrifying, but I get where you’re going with that. I’m usually early or on time for things. One of my coworker’s is always late for work and I find it really rude. If I was the boss I would probably have at least written her up by now. But that’s not my place so I shut my mouth. I just don’t get people who are always late. It’s very selfish. Sorry for that rant, that’s a can of worms for me lol

I like to punctual, but I’m not that punctual. God’s still working on me in that area. And I would collect nut butter, but it’s more fun to eat it. 😀

      February 11, 2016 at 10:07 pm

Oh, can you not eat your collections? Whooops, I’ve been doing it wrong 😉

Danny and I got our free Chipotle last night! Of course he got like double everything since they couldn’t charge extra haha

Oh, that’s smart! Do you know if they still charge for guac?

Ha that is too funny. I actually collect coffee mugs so I don’t think I can ever have enough.

    • EllenSlater says

      February 11, 2016 at 10:08 pm

I pretty much collect them, too! So, it’s not too many mugs, it’s too little space 🙂

I too am getting my free Chipotle tomorrow! So excited!

I love // collect mugs. Which my BF thought was ridiculous & now every time I come over he has used up all my mugs & they’re sitting dirty in the dishwasher. I don’t mind, but he sure seems to like them more than he lets on.

Stopping over from Thinking Out Loud.

Haha having lots of dishes benefits him, too 🙂 Enjoy your Chipotle!

No…people never change and are ALWAYS late! I.e. when you professor is the one always coming in 10 minutes late….???? Really!

    • EllenSlater says

      February 11, 2016 at 10:09 pm

I had a professor who was always 3-7 minutes late last quarter! His excuse was that it was the earliest class (9 am), so students would probably be late. 😛

I love the mugs- especially the Mickey Mouse one! A few Chipotle restaurants have opened in London over the past year so since lots of bloggers seem to enjoy their food- I really must make an effort to get to one soon!

Congratulations on the giveaway win! iHerb have so many amazing products it would definitely be interesting to see a blog post about your purchases.

    Have a wonderful Friday 🙂

For Christmas, my brother got me this sweet mug-holding contraption, and it is the best! It saved up a ton of space and it displays all my mugs. I love it!
