Thinking Out Loud #6: Confessions

in Thinking Out Loud on

Hello! I hope you’re having a lovely week – and hey, it’s almost Friday! I’m linking up with Amanda on this fine Thursday to share some random confession-like thoughts to switch it up a little bit. These are my confessions:

Thinking-Out-Loud2

1.) I have to force myself to have “lazy time”. Tuesday night and yesterday morning were free of assignments and things I had to do, so I made sure to take some time to wind down. That consisted of eating Chipotle in bed, playing too much Candy Crush, and not getting showered/dressed/presentable until 10 am. It was challenging, but I guess (?) I felt a little better afterward.

2.) After my forced lazy time, I studied for my econ quiz tonight and read the chapter we’re finishing up in calc. And started planning out my next philosophy paper when the topics were posted online. So… right back to work.

3.) I feel irrationally put-together when I successfully wear brown and black together.

{The boots are brown. Yep. Sorry for the mirror selfie.}

Even though I wasn’t really feeling that pulled together on this particular day. (Hello, lazy morning.)

4.) Diet Coke has kind of been my lifeline lately. I’m a big unexplained ball of stress right now, and I haven’t been sleeping so well. It’s been getting me through the days.

5.) Except after that lazy morning I went to a class… that wasn’t my own.

The professor I talked to on Friday night said I could come to his class. So I did. (And I kind of loved it.)

6.) After that class, I did the super-healthy, super-responsible-adult thing and had a milkshake with extra Oreos as my snack lunch because sometimes that happens I guess.

I ate a salad with dinner because balance is important.

7.) No matter how stressed I am, or what I have to do, I really look forward to my nighttime snack and just zoning out for a little while and savoring food I love.

{Repeat picture, but last night looked a lot like that, but with an English muffin in place of the graham crackers}

8.) I am utterly exhausted. So, I’m gonna finish up right now. Hope you have a lovely day!

What does your “lazy time” look like?

What makes you feel pulled together?

How do you handle stress?

    Lazy time looks like me in PJs, sitting in bed, with music on, either talking to the boyfriend or reading things on the internet. No obligations.

    Those are great times, as long as they aren’t too frequent. 🙂

      I agree completely. Little moments with no obligations are so valuable… but you only appreciate them when they come infrequently.

    Lazy time is me in my bed under the covers and on the computer haha I love it. Getting ready with hair, makeup, and clothes definitely makes me feel put together! I’m usually in yoga pants with no makeup 😉

      I like your idea of lazy time! Hahaha I understand – yoga pants are the best 🙂

    I rarely seem to get natural “lazy time”, as I’m always about getting on to the next to-do list item. 😛 So I’m with you about forced “lazy time”, and it usually consists of reading a good book, browsing blogs or watching one of my favorite cooking or history shows. 😉

    I don’t handle stress well at all, and have to work against my tendency to get snappy. I also tend to fly around super-fast, doing things all in a flurry, which can drive other people crazy. :O

    Lol, I hardly ever feel pulled together; my sister is the fashion queen of the household and always looks like a model even if her hair is messy! 😛 But when I feel like the style of my entire outfit goes together, especially if my jacket and shoes fit the style as well (bonus if the purse goes too! :)), I feel pretty pulled together!

      Hehe I definitely can get kinda snappish and harried when I’m stressed, too. Sometimes I probably need the lazy time to prevent the snappy-ness, even if I don’t want to admit it.

      People who always look effortlessly stylish make me want to know all their secrets. 😛
